New Firmware 071.004

New firmware available for the Nokia E72, The new firmware version is 071.004.
The update is done using the NOKIA OVI Suite or OTA (Over The Air).
Nokia OVI Suite
Connect the Nokia E72 to the PC, and start the Nokia OVI Suite.
Click on Software update then the application backup the phone, download the application and upgrade the phone. The process takes about 15 minutes.
Over The Air
Type *#0000# -> Options -> Check for update.

Today I go this pop up message on the phone: “Software update available”.It’s the first time that I got this kind of message.
After confirming the message following screen appears

New update using the OTA available.
type *#0000# and then Options, Check for updates.
Following the new version changelog:
- New chat features
- QuickOffice with Office 2007 support
- Improved Ovi Music and Ovi Store
- Updated browser
- Improved e-mail and calendar
- Improved performance and usability
Fring no longer supports Skype network

Fring the application that supports several messanger and VoIP clients in one application, no longer supports Skype network.
According to Fring’s blog, Skype blocked the connection between networks. Skype offers it’s own application to Nokia E72 but it doesn’t support video calls like Fring application.

The all new E72 white version
One more version is joining the E72 family, the white version.
Nokia provides a customized theme for each version, in the new 031.023 firmware you’ll find two new themes for the E72 white: personal and business white.
031.023 firmware update – change log
Following changes I can notice after upgrading to new firmware version 031.023.
- New Application – Internet radio – To the radio application new internet radio was added. Sam application as I mentioned in previous post.
- New Application – Smart Connect (SC) – Application that allow you to create a group of WIFI and 3G connection. I’ll review it in another post
- New Application – Advanced Communications Manager (Ad. CM. ) – Application that provide the ability to block calls and SMS from users. I’ll review it in another post.
- New application – Bloomberg -You read about it in my previous post here.
Nokia E72 – New firmware 031.023
New software update for the Nokia E72. The new version is 0.31.023.
The new version is available using OVI software for the PC. When I checked for a new update using the phone I didn’t get anything.
As you can see in the attached the updates are: Great new features, Updated applications, Performance improvements. Not very detailed is’nt it?
Updating the phone right now…. more details to follow
