New firmware update 053.001


Today I go this pop up message on the phone: “Software update available”.It’s the first time that I got this kind of message.

After confirming the message following screen appears

Phone Software

As you can see in the attached, the update is describes as critical.

Clicking on Options->View Details, provides the following information

I’ll continue updating the phone and post more updates

    Didn’t get any message, nor with Ovi Suite.

    this update is similar to v52.005 but for RM-530′s types. It’s nothin major i guess. Adobe Reader Update, Clock font is bigger again, keypad autolock fix.

    i did not get any update either! (also in Holland) . Tried to manually update my phone and there is no new software available, so it seems!
    Can some1 tell me what PDF READER i can use, ( but Adobe)?

    i’m from lebanon, & i’ve updated my device OTA. Check regularly on SW update, and nokia software update. As an alternative for adobe, there’s ”mobipocket reader” that should work fine.

    Same here. No update available in the Philippines yet. But I bookmarked this site: http://www.a2phone.com/News-Firmware/ where I check if there’s an update available. Just click on E72 listings and you will see the affected areas/countries of a particular firmware release. :)

    I am living in Austria and I got the same SMS-mesasage (also to be seen on the NOKIA-website under software-updates). I will do a backup and then I will update the phone.

    No update. In Malaysia latest firmware still 052.005. Better than previous version. My phone never hang and never get blank screen.

    i updated software to latest version but actually my fon is getting stuck nw.pls help me.also pls tel wer i can get an adobe flash player(many websites ask for adobe flash player and gives a link.but wen i try to dwnload a msg appears that ur operating system is not supported).i want adobe flash player(a free version!!!!).

    I still have 051.018, no 052, no 053. But actually regular software updates may be harmful because they can make more difficult accessing some important configuration items like switching off the camera noise. Access to this features is somewhat complicated and do not have it yet but I would like to get to them some day and newer system software may interfere.

    please give me some more tips to enhance the phone functionality altough i am an advanced user for the phone but still i want something more from the phone a bit more

    today l got the 054.005 version of e72 in turkey
    anyone could write please whats the different between other versions ? I didn’t see any thing changes els adore reader

    I got a SMS text notifying an update is available, v053.001, but when I searched for the update using *#000# it actually said v054.005 is available. Its installing the new version as I type this. New features are still unknown to me!

    Read my blog if you can comprehend its script.

    Greetings. the updated version 04/04/2011 054,005 on my e72 and I have a problem and would like to know if only my phone or is the update, go to menu> media> musicplayer> allsongs. previously could put any letter and identify the artists or songs with this album, but now it goes direct.
    Now I updated my phone and weighed the 2Mb upgrade, and I see the update by ovi, and weighs 197mb, what happens ????? and good news I see is just the largest clock. And what I read in blogs was that the new update, it updates the browser, I’m really not sure.

    can any one tell me how to update Nokia E-72 thru Laptop. Through nokia phone I’m not able to update.it says proccessing…….* My Nokia phone it shows Phone Software Available
