Network Destinations

Nokia E72 has an additional tab for “Network Destinations”. The network destinations provides the ability to organize the network connections under specific destinations. The connections includes all data connections: WiFi and 3g networks.

The configuration of the network destination can be found under the following menus: Menu -> Ctrl. Panel-> Settings-> Connection -> Destinations.

By default following destinations exist: Access Point, Internet, Multimedia msg., WAP services, Intranet, Uncategorized. New connections are added by default  to the Uncategorized destination.

You might ask what the point of using this other then having the network connections organized?

Some of the applications network configuration works only with netowrk destination, it’s not possible to select specific connection. Nokia email’s client and Nokia’s internet browser are using this type of configuration. When adding new configuration pay attention to categorize it under the right destination so you’ll be able to use the application.

It is interesting, I tried to create a group named “free wifi” to sync my email and other heavy data consumers only when I’m having free wireless around me.

Did someone manage to do so?
I could configure only separate connections on the email client.

    cheers, niros

Niros – I noticed the same thing. Can’t specify any of the groups I created in Network Destinations. In the email account settings it only lists individual connection.
